New, Green Technology Being Used to Improve Indoor Air Quality

Using "Nature’s" Way to Remove Odors from Smoking and Pets

Palm Coast, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/10/2012 -- Healthier indoor air is critical – especially for those who are susceptible to respiratory ailments, colds, viruses and bacteria. Now, thanks to innovative green technology, it is now easier to improve air quality and remove offensive odors and pollutants in a way that is safe, clean and effective.

Through the use of nano ionic technology, far infrared rays and a special manufacturing process, a natural (non-manufactured) paint additive has been developed to permanently remove embedded odors caused by smoking, pets, cat urine and bacterial proliferation, says Vincent Valle, president and founder of Air-ReNu, LLC in Palm Coast, Fla.

Air-ReNu, is a proprietary blend of naturally occurring polymeric matrix materials that are used in water purification to detox and remove impurities in drinking water; they are inorganic, natural, nontoxic and environmentally safe. These same matrix materials ground into a fine powder then mixed with paint and applied to the interior walls of your home or business, produce a continuous flow of healthful negative ions and IFR&aposs, detoxifying the air while removing offensive odors, say Valle.

No need to buy candles, masking sprays or plug in machines or ozone generators to remove odors, viruses and bacteria because the technology in the product does that while improving indoor air quality, he says.

Studies by the Environmental Protection Agency indicate that Americans spend billions of dollars every year on spray and medications to help remove odors, breathe better or cure their respiratory illnesses, including such ailments as asthma, hay fever and other allergies. Many physicians believe that a solution is in reducing indoor air pollutants.

Independent studies have confirmed that the inclusion of this innovative technology is effective in reducing and diminishing various pathogens, including MRSA bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus) and Black Mold (Aspergillus Niger, test results available on request), Valle says.

The product and technology are non-toxic and will not break down into something hazardous, he says. It is not harmful to pets, children or plant earth, and no drugs or chemicals are used, he adds. It is also passive, which means no consumption of electricity is necessary for the technology to work. And, Valle says, it is a green solution.

Understanding Negative and Positive Ions

Electrons carry a small negative electrical charge, so a molecule gaining an electron becomes negatively charged (a negative ion) and a molecule losing an electron becomes positively charged (a positive ion).

Negative ions occur in all sizes and are electrically attracted to airborne particles such as mold spores, odors, allergens, even viruses and bacteria. They attach to these and precipitate them onto the nearest surface, thus cleaning the air of pollution and germs.

Lloyd-Westcord Developing Carbon Market Confidence

Some countries with rich forest implement programs to improve forest management and to help fight climate change by reducing carbon emissions from deforestation.

Toronto, ON -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/02/2012 -- It is important to provide more accurate data for creating confidence in developing carbon markets and Lloyd-Westcord agrees with that. The data that has been published this week has yielded a confidence to carbon markets.

Trees store carbon dioxide but forest deforestation releases as much as 1.1 billion tons of carbon into the atmosphere each year. Some countries with rich forest implement programs to improve forest management and to help fight climate change by reducing carbon emissions from deforestation.

Guyana, a state in northern South America, took those efforts a step further by pioneering a national program to conserve its forests in 2009. It created an economically rational baseline to measure the value of a standing forest. An accurate measurement of what’s actually being sold is the key to market confidence. This idea, of ecosystem services such as carbon dioxide stored in trees has a value to the world, as well as to the market, will likely become more reasonable as the market recognizes the expense of humans trying to recreate these services.

New data on emission reductions is important are essential for countries trying to meet their greenhouse gases reporting requirements under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Lloyd Westcord has become one of the largest Canadian based investment managers focusing on the growing environmental commodities markets. Our mission is to generate attractive returns by investing in environmental markets such as those that accelerate the reduction of greenhouse gases and air pollution or increase renewable energy generation.

We have many areas of expertise but our main focus is to trade in the electricity and carbon emission units in both the compliance and voluntary markets. Comprised of a team of global leading experts working in areas as diverse as education, information technology, climate research, business development, carbon markets, carbon offsets, carbon credit project origination, clean and renewable energy and greenhouse gas (“GHG”) emission reduction, we will help you audit your current emissions, reduce your carbon footprint and at the same time reduce costs and improve your profitability.

Cascade Comments on the Impact of Boscombe Artificial Surf Reef

$

Plymouth, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/26/2012 -- Academics from Plymouth University are set to survey local businesses and people who depend on the sea for work or leisure, to determine the economic impact of Dorset’s artificial surf reef. They survey will focus on whether the scheme has value for money. The £3.2m underwater reef, off Boscombe, was closed in March 2011 after only two years, because of damage. A spokesperson for Cascade, a local sales and marketing company commented that the survey was a positive idea, and that it was “important to quantify the performance of the reef, and then make informed decisions.”

“What we can now begin to consider is the socio-economic impact,” said Emma Rendle, from the Marine and Coastal Policy research group (MarCoPol) at Plymouth University, “Can we quantify its benefits, and if so, do they outweigh the costs of construction?”

The survey will take place online, and will poll a variety of members of the local community to determine the effects the reef has had on them. Fishermen will be asked if their catches in Poole Bay have changed. Hoteliers will be asked if it has had an effect on their bookings.

For those without access to the internet, they will still be able to voice their opinions, as paper copies of the survey will be made available to them. A Cascade representative said, “As this is such an important issue to the community, it’s important that they be included in the process.”

The reef was opened in November 2009, past deadline and over budget. Created using 55 giant sand-filled bags placed 225m out to sea, the reef is supposed to enhance waves to improve conditions for surfers. Some however, have criticised the reef, saying it doesn’t work properly.

However many traders in the area argue that the reef has regenerated the area. New developments have sprung up in the area to support tourism generated by the reef.

“Local tourism is a big economic boost to the town,” a Cascade spokesperson said, “This survey will be very helpful in determining if the reef is pivotal to that, or even a detrimental factor.” The council remains in talks with ASR Ltd, the firm which built the reef, over remedial works on the reef.

Revolutionary New Low Cost, User Friendly Air Quality Monitor for Smart Cities Launched by Israeli Group

$

Berlin, Germany -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/02/2012 -- AirBase Systems Ltd, a start-up environmental technology group, have launched a range of high quality sensors devices for both indoor and outdoor use. The market price of units is approx. $500 - $600 and equipped to measure levels of Ozone, Nitrogen Di-Oxide, total VOC (volatile organic compounds), total suspended particles (TSP), noise, and relative humidity. The units are programmable to include other stressors such as odor, light and sulphur dioxide and works by combining nanotechnology sensors with internet connectivity. Data is delivered via Wi-Fi or GSM to the AirBase data cloud. This has several advantages of traditional data storage methods. By storing information to a remote database, multiple devices have access to a “community” of knowledge and dependency on one access terminal is eliminated. Data will also be made available to mobile phones.

Of all current sensor solutions , AirBase is the only one that offers comprehensive answers to the most crucial mobile challenges offering: precise information; full coverage – outdoors and indoors; personal guidelines and feedbacks; centralization and simple - highly accessible sensors per unit price. Users are expected to include municipalities, community groups, citizen scientists and those individuals whose health is affected by air pollution. The pollution monitoring units can be used singly or to form a network – useful for Smart City projects.

Irad Kuhnreich, Founder and CEO of AirBase Systems, says of the breakthrough system; “This is a revolution in air quality monitoring. For the first time, citizens and communities can take control of monitoring their own environment and share the data with the world at large. The dramatic reduction in device cost, combined with the availability of aggregated data on the Internet, has the potential to open everyone’s eyes to the damaging levels of air pollution that affect us all. With this knowledge, we can change our behaviors to better look after the health of ourselves and our children.”

The OECD latets report indicated that in 2050, more people are goining to due as a result of air pollution then of those exposes to polluted water. According to the World Health Organization, air pollution constitutes a major environmental risk to human health, estimated to cause approximately 2 million premature deaths worldwide per annum. Aphekom, a European research group, found out that the monetary health benefits from complying with the WHO guideline would total some €31.5 billion annually, including savings on health expenditures, absenteeism and intangible costs such as wellbeing, life expectancy and quality of life. New research consistently points to the dire health effects generated by air pollution such as premature births, cognitive development disorders, heart conditions, loss of work days due to poor indoor air quality and many other negative effects upon human wellbeing. Furthermore, air pollution damages agriculture and the natural forest. Over the years multiple studies have shown alarming figures of crop loss, up to 10%, due to air pollution.

The product is a technology breakthrough for the environmental industry. Current technology, used by cities around the world, is extremely expensive, unreliable and much less sensitive compared to the new AirBase product. CanarIT, at $600 per device, will dramatically change the cost and accessibility of pollution monitoring systems.

The first customers are taking delivery of CanarIT units in April, and the company is taking orders for the next production run. Customers come from the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America, and represent municipalities, environmental consultants, utilities, telecoms, engineering consultants, weather enthusiasts, and air pollution campaigners.

Offering a practical approach to eco-living, EcoLivingAdvice.com offers insights on how to live one's life with the Earth in mind.

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/04/2012 -- It is no secret that the practically every day, the Earth is becoming a less and less ideal for living. Exploitation of the natural resources remains to be the biggest threat to the planet, and the result is going to be consequences that are almost beyond repair.

While environmental awareness is pushed by concerned movements that bring such realistic Earth threats to light, the biggest problem at the moment is that there isn&apost enough actual actionable advice on "how" to be more eco friendly. While some inputs make sense, they often imply that people must give up their current lifestyle – which only a few people are willing to do.

EcoLivingAdvice.com is dedicated to providing insights on saving the planet, with emphasis on real, actionable solutions that actually work. Created by environmentalist Richard Adams, the website suggests simple, pain-free methods whereby individuals can reduce the effects of their actions on the planet without having to compromise on home comforts. Essentially, the website believes that the realistic approach will lead to a wide-scale uptake.

EcoLivingAdvice.com departs from all other environmentally-focused websites and causes in that it offers actionable tips that help reduce one&aposs environmental impact – without having to compel people to change the way they do what they have learned as routine. The website notes that it is not about asking people not to wash or flush their toilet; or not to use electricity or buy a car in order to save the environment.

"While I have a passion for saving our planet, I believe the only realistic way to do this is to maintain our current living standards," Mr. Adams says. "If we expect people to go and live in a cave with no home comforts then the green movement is surely doomed."

EcoLivingAdvice.com does away with radical actions that include growing one&aposs own food or never going on holiday again. As a matter of fact, it is about living a full, exciting life, while minimizing the effects of such lifestyle on the planet. It is about living a balanced life that satisfies both the planet and the people in it.

EcoLivingAdvice.com comes with a plethora of articles and resources that tackle eco friendly products, houses, as well as eco friendly how-to&aposs, such as the call for modernist green computing. It also offers visitors a free, downloadable copy of the "Going Green In 24 Hours" eBook that individuals can refer to when seeking to be planet-friendly.

People who want the real deal when it comes to saving the environment should check out the tips and advice from http://www.ecolivingadvice.com for a realistic perspective that makes it possible and doable for people to adopt eco friendly living as a way of life.

Dubai, UAE -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/19/2012 -- Corodex Electromechanic Co. LLC and Roediger Vacuum GmbH are geared up to introduce their award-winning and environmentally friendly Vacuum Sanitation Systems to Qatar this week. The system aims to decrease the dependence on water by using air.

Christian Ruester, director, Vacuum Sanitation Systems, Roediger Vacuum, and Mohanned Awad, director, Concorde – Corodex Group will deliver their presentation on the benefits of the system at MEED - Qatar Stadium Build Conference from April 16th to the 17th. They will discuss indoor vacuum sewer systems and its ability to save water over conventional systems.

Hoping to break into the Qatar market, Ruester and Awad will inform delegates that the innovative system uses air as a medium instead of water, and as such, requires only one litre of water per flush. Other advantages include an easy installation process. Several stadiums worldwide have already adopted this technology.

The system has been such a success that it won the coveted, “Water Reuse Project of the Year” in United Arab Emirates at the MEED Quality Awards for Projects 2012, the only awards programme in the GCC to recognise completed quality projects.

Corodex and their partner Roediger Vacuum GmbH supplied the Indoor Vacuum Sewage Collection System to Al Ain Wildlife Park and Resort.

“We are proud on being recognised as the national winners in our category (Water Reuse) along with our partners Roediger Vacuum, however we are even more proud that the UAE and our client is willing to invest in such technology to address the water scarcity issues that exist in the region”, said Awad of Concorde-Corodex Group.

”The technology that was installed will provide the end user with water savings and a light carbon foot print during the operational lifetime of the equipment, while the contractor and architect have already enjoyed the advantages of the flexible arrangement for the piping network unlike the conventional technology,” said Marc Lyachenko, Regional Manager of Roediger Vacuum GmbH.

”Our partnership in the Middle East with Corodex has provided our common client base a trusted supplier for all the Vacuum Sewer and Sanitation Solutions,” he added.

Unplug and Go Green's Beginner's Guide to Going Green

$
0
0

Green living is not just a trend, it is a lifestyle.

Clark County, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/07/2012 -- Unplug and Go Green gives Mother Earth a new chance at survival. Today, people push through their usual activities without taking into consideration the welfare of Mother Earth. Each and every day, there are various activities which can lead to the destruction of the amazing place that people are living in. Unplug and Go Green aims to put a stop into this madness by giving people reasons on why go green as well as ideas on how to go green.

A lot of people today have realized the increasing need to go green. Many of these people wish to lead an eco-friendly lifestyle and leave all the destructive activities that they have been doing for the past years. However, there is one thing that hinders them from doing so---lack of knowledge. Since these people have no idea where and how to start, they fail to start a brand new beginning and continue to live their lives the way they have always done. Unplug and Go green gives these beginners a guide on how to get started on living green.

People do not have to make a full lifestyle overhaul just so they can go green. On the other hand, they can create a big change just by taking little steps and changing various parts of their daily activities. For one, transportation is one of the major aspects of a person&aposs daily life. Living green involves a change this aspect. For example, people can make their method of transportation a lot more eco-friendly by opting for a more fuel-efficient car. In today&aposs world, one of the major economical and environmental problem is the lack of petroleum reserves. As a solution to this, people can look for mass transit. Another option would be carpooling.

A person&aposs daily activity involves shopping so this is also another aspect that people can alter to live a greener lifestyle. Today, many companies are promoting “eco products” which people deem as nothing but a promotional activity. Regardless if it is just for promotion or not, these little steps can help make a big difference. When buying any products, it is best for people to search for eco-friendly certifications on products that they are planning to buy. Also, choosing gadgets and things that are of low quality should be avoided. Instead, opt for ones that will provide service for a very long period of time. When it comes to shopping, try to bring an eco-friendly bag where people can put their purchases. Plastic bags will just add to the pollution that is already the number one enemy of the environment.

Unplug and Go green is reminding everyone that little things do count. If people do not have the time and effort to do big stuffs for Mother earth, the least they can do is to change their ways little by little.

About Unplug and Go Green
Unplug and Go green provides individuals with tips on how to go green, how to go greener and more ideas on how to go green. For those people who are still doubtful about going green, Unplug and Go green will give reasons why one should go green. Our world today have become inconsiderate about the welfare of Mother Earth and it is the goal of Unplug and Go Green to remind people of this. Unplug and Go green thinks that with the technology that we have today, it is quite easy to make an overhaul or change our ways by taking small steps, which will eventually lead to a big difference.
